STEM Project Competition was conducted to assist and enhance the youth’s problem-solving skills by utilizing STEM-integrated knowledge. The first part of the competition (1 October 2022 to 31 January 2023) was the application acceptance period. Topics for the competition that Southeast Asian students can submit are divided into three categories of everyday life challenges, industry challenges, and community & school challenges.
The competition welcomed students or a team of students (with teacher’s supervision) from the SEAMEO member countries (up to age 18 school students i.e., grades 6/7-12, including non-formal education students; vocational and technical education students; and university students or undergraduate level) to submit their projects
Meanwhile, the judging period covered from 31 January 2023 to 14 February 2023, in this matter SEAMEO STEM-ED along with its judging committee received over 300 applicants which the finalists of the competition (released on 15 February 2023 through emails, SEAMEO STEM-ED Facebook page, and STEM Fair and Expo website) are promised to have the opportunity to showcase their projects on 10 March 2023 at SEA STEM Fair and Expo 2023.
