17 January 2023 ─ SEAMEO STEM-ED in collaboration National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) organized an onsite workshop on “𝗣𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻: 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗲𝗻, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲” to enable high-school students and teachers with systematic learning processes and demonstrate how a computer programming language can be learned through a systematic approach.
Facilitated by a renowned computer scientist, Assoc. Prof. Yuen Poovarawan the New Gen, New Game workshop focused on the foundations of computer science for students and teachers to apply in their STEM projects through game development.
This python workshop (January 17-19, 2023) is a part of “𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀,” a Chevron Enjoy Science II-sponsored program ─ centered on a professional career development program and assisting the youth with the necessary skills and knowledge (in STEM education) ─ as well as strive for professional careers in the 21st century.
Prior to this workshop, two virtual workshops (under the same topic of python language) were organized as preparation for basic coding and to introduce students to opportunities in the modern digital era.
Participants in this workshop included 148 students and 31 teachers from 31 schools throughout Thailand.
