The SEAMEO Secretariat and the Government of Japan through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), in cooperation with UNESCO Bangkok, are pleased to announce the SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award 2026 under the theme:

“Learning and Well-being for Sustainable Futures: Leveraging the Power of AI”

Public and private kindergarten, elementary, secondary, vocational, and technical schools (up to Grade 12) across Southeast Asia are invited to submit programmes that promote learning and well-being for sustainable futures through the meaningful, ethical, and practical use of AI and digital technologies.

Winning schools will receive cash prizes and recognition, with the First Prize winner also receiving a study tour to Japan for four students and two teachers involved in the initiative.

Submission deadline: 15 July 2026
