The STEM Education Leadership for Change Programme will convene its upcoming Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop from 27–30 April 2026 at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
Following the programme’s kick-off earlier this year, the four-day workshop marks a key milestone
in strengthening instructional leadership and advancing integrated STEM education across Southeast Asia and beyond.
Led by SEAMEO STEM-ED in partnership with SEAMEO INNOTECH, RECSAM, SEAMOLEC, Caravan of Knowledge, and Michigan State University, and supported by Chevron, the programme brings together representatives from five countries—Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and—alongside partner institutions to strengthen instructional leadership and advance STEM education aligned with the PISA competency framework.
This four-day workshop will focus on equipping a core group of expert trainers with the knowledge, tools, and pedagogical approaches needed to lead professional development for teachers and school leaders.
The central theme of this workshop is Climate Education, which provides rich opportunities for cross-subject teachers to design integrated lessons while giving students meaningful exposure to real-world issues that affect their lives and communities. Participants will take part in collaborative design sessions, micro-teaching activities, and hands-on exploration of STEM digital tools such as Floaino, SageModeler, and CODAP (Common Online Data Analysis Platform). In addition, the workshop will support the co-development of professional learning modules and deepen collaboration among partner institutions, ensuring lasting impact across the region.
The programme will feature plenary contributions from distinguished international experts, including
Prof Dr Joseph Krajcik (Michigan State University), Ms Yadana Desmond (STEM Teachers NYC), and Ms So Chenda Samreth (UNESCO Office for Climate Education).
The workshop is expected to contribute to the development of a network of expert trainers, strengthened professional development frameworks, and enhanced regional collaboration in STEM education.
Selected plenary sessions will be made available via LIVE streaming on SEAMEO STEM-ED’s YouTube and Facebook channels, offering broader access to insights from distinguished international experts. Further details on how to join will be shared soon.
More updates from the workshop will follow.
