The Southeast Asian Teacher Education Programme (SEA-TEP) is a 30-month initiative funded by Chevron and implemented across Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Thailand to address the persistent gaps in teacher preparation, interdisciplinary integration, and access to effective instructional resources that many education systems face.
SEA-TEP strengthens both pre-service and in-service STEM education through curriculum innovation, expert-led training, and collaborative learning, all aligned with the competencies assessed by PISA.
The Southeast Asian Teacher Education Programme (SEA-TEP) has officially concluded, marking the successful completion of a multi-year regional initiative to strengthen STEM teacher education across Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Thailand. Through sustained collaboration among educators, researchers, and partner institutions, the programme has advanced innovative teaching approaches, fostered regional partnerships, and generated valuable evidence to support the continuous improvement of STEM education.
As part of the programme’s legacy, SEAMEO STEM-ED has released the SEA-TEP Policy Brief, Final Programme Report, and Research Report, providing policymakers, educators, researchers, and stakeholders with comprehensive insights into the programme’s implementation, research findings, and strategic recommendations. These publications capture the lessons learned from SEA-TEP and serve as key resources for informing future STEM education policy, practice, and regional collaboration.
