26 September 2023 ─ SEAMEO STEM-ED, along with its Governing Board Members (GBMs), visited Darunsikkhalai School for Innovative Learning (DSIL) to observe how a constructionism-based school utilises a Project-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum. They also examined how the school implements FabLearn (a network, research collaborative, and vision of learning for the 21st century) in its classrooms.
The significance of this visit was demonstrated through the fully STEM-integrated courses taught at DSIL. These courses could be leveraged or collaborated upon by SEAMEO STEM-ED and SEAMEO Member countries to promote regional prosperity.
Earlier this morning, SEAMEO STEM-ED convened its 6th Governing Board Meeting at the Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. During this meeting, various working papers were discussed, including the Centre’s Achievements through an annual report, financial report, future initiatives, and new organisational structure.
GBMs play a crucial role in ensuring checks and balances while exercising the highest decision-making authority within the SEAMEO STEM-ED framework. They assume a pivotal role in shaping overarching policy directives that govern the operations and initiatives of the Centre.
