29 May 2023 ─ SEAMEO STEM-ED in collaboration with the Teachers Council of Thailand (คุรุสภา) and Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO or สอวช.) organized another Strengthening Teacher Education Program (STEP) workshop, tackling core practices for Thai teachers and faculty members ─ to adopt in teaching methods class for practicum students ─ as a source of transformation to becoming a new generation of skilled teachers.
STEP is a capacity-building program from an alliance of SEAMEO STEM-ED, Kurusapa and NXPO, with sponsorship from Chevron Enjoy Science II. Its mission is to address one of the obstructions in education, which is inadequate teacher training. With its capability in program development and networking different fields of expertise, SEAMEO STEM-ED pioneered this mission as Thailand’s foremost agenda ─ thus, implementing core teaching practices and advancing professional (educators and teachers) academies.
The two-day workshop on 29 – 30 May 2023 was held at Bella B Hotel (Bangkok, Thailand) and participated by 12 institutions who enrolled in the program.
