Join now for the “STEM and the SDGs: From Humble Materials to Deep Understandings” virtual workshop and delve into climate change, the atmosphere, and the ocean.

The virtual workshop will be packed with hands-on activities and scientific investigations that utilize simple materials. In addition to this, the moderator in the workshop is the establisher of “Questacon” (Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre), Dr. Stuart Kohlhagen. He also designed and developed over 1000 interactive exhibitions which pioneered Australian national educational outreach programs, as well as leading the center’s involvement in several national research programs.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

Make a basic thermometer to understand aspects of heat, differential thermal expansion, and how such simple tools can be used in a BIGGER LONGER STEM investigation/project work

Investigate air pollution and its effect on cloud formation

Understand heat in the atmosphere and investigate how heat drives weather

Understand heat in the oceans, and how ocean currents and circulations move heat and so buffer the world's climate

Learn the effect of CO2 on ocean acidification and ocean life

Investigate the greenhouse effect with simple materials
